Hi everyone! So, today I wanted to talk about a wonderful little gem I stumbled across not too long ago. It’s called The Crepe. It’s located within lovely Tivoli Village, one of my favorite local shopping centers as it offers so much more than a great selection of retail stores, but also a farmers market every weekend & more!
Anyway, I signed up for a Friday MeetUp here, where we’d enjoy live Jazz played by UNLV students. They did such an amazing job by the way. I’m not a jazz expert but I do love enjoying live music—especially when played by passionate musicians. That was exactly what we enjoyed—AND a mouth full of amazing flavors. Honestly, I don’t remember the name of this crepe. I know it isn’t on the menu as it was one of their daily specials but it was sooo good!! It consisted of an apple filling accented by a touch of lime & cinnamon, topped with some powdered sugar, more apple filling, caramel & whipped cream—it was incredible! We finished it off with a couple of lattes while enjoying the music.
When you walk in, you seat yourself and are promptly greeted by either a waiter or by one of the owners, which was so refreshing. I sort of felt like I was in an episode of Restaurant Makeover—the part of the episode where they take bad restaurant owners and show them what good restaurant owners do to succeed. Well, the owners of this place certainly know how to make you feel well accommodated. They were so active in every part of the experience: they greeted us; they picked up empty dishes; they stopped by to tell us about the menu which then led to a lovely conversation about how they came about creating such a great space and what their vision for this space entailed. They hoped to create an environment where people not only enjoy stopping by for a bite to eat but also to provide a space you can always count on to have fun. To assist, they scheduled all sorts of activities for everyone in the family.

I think they’re doing a great job at accomplishing their goal On this particular night, a Friday night, while most of the shops around had closed The Crepe seemed like it was just getting started for the night. When we arrived there were a handful of tables seated. We left about an hour later and the restaurant was pretty full with only a handful of open tables. Even with a bigger crowed we didn’t feel neglected at any point.
The Crepe is the only privately owned restaurant in this versatile shopping center which I think is one of the reasons I found it so special. It offers breakfast crepes at all hours of the day as well as a diverse assortment of savory options. With your crepe you can enjoy a glass of wine or beer in addition to some more traditional options (tea or coffee), which I found a bit surprising as I wouldn’t think to pair crepes with any form of alcohol, but if you choose a savory option I suppose it’d make for a great combination. Their location is also pretty special as they converted a hallway into what it is now—a little European hideout.
As you can tell, I love this little hut. I think that you should definitely give it a go if you’re ever around this area. If you do, please let me know what you had to eat and your thoughts on the dish!
