Day 69 - 9/20/14
Okay…I got sick & I’d rather not go into details, but there is a silver lining—Ryan was amazingly supportive. I don’t know about you, but I get quite grumpy and unbearable. In the three years we’ve been together, I don’t think I’ve ever had such a situation as this one, and to my delight he was totally understanding.
Day 70 - 9/21/14
Sick time continued…it wasn’t totally bad though, being catered to hand and foot by my husband-to-be was just lovely.
Day 71 - 9/22/14
MONDAY!—& thankfully I was able to go to work, so that was really nice.
Day 72 - 9/23/14
“Without pain, we cannot know joy”—A lovely thought from The Fault in Our Stars, vaguely applicable to my day at work. We sort of finished a big project at work.
Day 73 - 9/24/14
A good friend and I reconnected over a challenging day at work. It’s always nice to know you can count on a few good friends
Day 74 - 9/25/14
Calling all locals! OMG—Rollin Smoke Barbeque is AMAZING!! This is literally a hole in the wall. They don’t serve alcoholic beverages but they don’t need to as their barbeque doesn’t need the added garnish. The location we went to is a bit sketchy which made me a bit nervous—right next door is a stripper joint, but suffice it to say that the taste of broccoli doesn’t at all have anything to do with the taste of chocolate.
Day 75 - 9/26/14
My boss thanked me for a job well done this week—oh so gratifying especially as he doesn’t do it very often.
Day 76 - 9/27/14
Watched The Fault in Our Stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quick review: it’s not as good as the book, but a satisfying rendition to the book.
Day 77 - 9/28/14
Penny had a lovely play date with Curly. I was a bit worried as Curly is a bit of a grump and Penny can be overwhelmingly bubbly, their personalities sometimes just don’t mesh well, but as it happened—I had nothing to worry about.
