Unboxing & Product Reviews

ELLOVI Tinted Lip butter

This lip butter is light weight and nourishing, but not very pigmented and it has a bit of an earthy scent and taste. I know it is a tint and that I shouldn’t expect it to be pigmented, but it's too close to my lip color to really show up and for me to really appreciate it. Suffice it to say that I wasn’t a big fan—not like I was of last month’s MI-ME Tangerine Hydrating Lip Butter Duo. That one leaves the loveliest taste on your lips in addition to nourishment.

Hawaiian coconut, sunflower, hemp, macadamia, Ghanaian marula, and shea +/- red root of a Mediterranean flower called alkanet

LIL LOLO Mineral Eyeshadow – Choc Fudge Cake

The color is amazing!! Add a primer and it works beautifully—without it, it creases beautifully on my oily eyelids. I wore it as soon as I received it without primer and next thing I knew I had raccoon eyes (due to fallout) and quite a bit of creasing.

In the pot, it looks like a dark lilac (unfortunately my lighting doesn't really prove my point) but it’s actually a lovely subtle brown. I think that’s part of the mineral shadows charm.

ROOT Science Skincare – RS Youth Serum

Now this beauty was the star of the box! Had I not received any other product I would have been totally happy with my delivery—I may have been disappointed at first with just a single product but once tested out, I would have been quite understanding. This is the most nourishing serum I own—or should I say thick. The only other one I own is the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate—which I love, but honestly I think I prefer this one now. I exfoliate at night and my skin tends to get quite dry. This serum hydrates like I’ve never experienced before—and that is saying a lot as I’ve lived in a very dry area most of my life and now I wonder, where has this item been my whole life!?

YAROK Leave-In Conditioner

This product has a  citrusy scent and is quite lightweight, hence I loved it as well. At first I was a little apprehensive as I honestly didn’t know how well it would protect my hair. I’ve given it a shot for the past few weeks and I’ve noticed that my hair is a bit shinier and that it gets less greasy in between washes.

Verdict

Of the four subscription boxes I have, this is the one I look forward to the most—don't get me wrong, I look forward to all of them but this one especially. I think their lovely Instagram helps feed my anticipation.

The overall value of the box is $50.20. The card notes the price of a full size bottle of the youth serum & I think I received a sample size which sells for $20 on the Root Science website. So, yes, I am quite satisfied with the value I’m gettingwhat’s even better is that the products are actually really great!

So tell me, have you tried any natural, cruelty free products I should give a go?
